Joining Ferrari in 1956, taking over from the legend Alberto Ascari, who died in an accident in 1955, Fangio raced only one season for Ferrari. A frosty relationship with owner Enzo Ferrari saw him return to Maserati in 1957, after securing the Driver Championship

'El Maestro', who dominated the world Grand Prix circuit winning five World Driver's Championship's in a row. A feat that took forty six years to beat, by Michael Schumacher. Fangio remains the only driver to win the title with four different manufacturers; Alfa Romeo, Ferrari, Mercedes-Benz and Maserati
